Theo Paphitis SBS Award winner
John and Helen Hogg who set up Stratford Town Walk in 2002 received a business boost from Retail Entrepreneur Theo Paphitis when they were selected by him as one of six weekly winners during Small Business Sunday.  This weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010, identifies and supports small businesses in the UK and only 0.68% of all applicants are chosen by Theo as an SBS Winner.

John & Helen from Stratford Town Walk receiving SBS winner's certificate from Theo PaphitisAs a result John and Helen were invited to attend an SBS winners event at the ICC in Birmingham on Friday 23 February.  There were motivational speakers, well-known sponsors, workshops, marketing advice and the opportunity for John and Helen to have a photograph taken with Theo Paphitis receiving their winners certificate.

Helen said “ It was  a terrific day and all quite exciting. We are really pleased that Stratford Town Walk attracted the eye of ex Dragon’s Den Theo Paphitis as there are not many SBS winners in the Stratford/Warwickshire area.  This excellent initiative shared the big business success and experience of others with smaller businesses like ours.  We were able to network with other winners from all over the country.  Undoubtedly a key to our success and one of  our greatest assets is the Stratford Town Walk team of guides who share this accolade.”
Stratford Town Walk provides a guided walk every day of the year, Saturday evening ghost walks and private tours for groups.  For more information see Stratford Town Walk or telephone 07855 760377.

Stratford Town Walk has been providing guided walking tours around Stratford upon Avon every day of the year since 2002. October 2014
"I could a tale unfold whose lightest word
Would harrow up thy soul ......"  wrote Shakespeare in his play Hamlet.
Local actor, Mark Spriggs, AKA Herbert Mortimer, Victorian Undertaker echoes these words as he undertakes his new role as a Ghostly Guide with Stratford Town Ghost Walk.

Herbert's stage - the medieval streets of ancient Stratford.
His scenery - the half timbered buildings seeping tales of witches, ghosts and murder.
His audience - willing victims from all over the world.

Dressed in black top hat and tails and carrying brief case, cane and necessary tape measure, his somber disposition displays only too well the task he undertakes - so seriously.

Perhaps not for those of a nervous disposition. The stories about a young woman buried alive and the poor soul dragged from the river-bed, may send shivers down a shaky spine. Do their ghosts still haunt the area?

The 2014 Halloween Walk is in partnership with the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. The special evening lasts around 2 1/4 hrs and consists of an entertaining Ghost Walk around the ancient streets to hear tales of ghosts, witches, murder and misery. The tour includes a visit to 'haunted' Halls Croft, (once visited by the television programme 'Most haunted live' for a private  tour.  The willing 'victims' have the opportunity to explore this magnificent building and to 'sup' a glass of mulled wine before setting off again on the grisly perambulations.
John Hogg from Stratford Town Walk said: "We are delighted to have Herbert join our team of guides and we are very proud of all of them.  The guides are professional Magicians, Actors or Entertainers, delivering the ghost walk in their own particular style, but with emphasis on good 'old fashioned' story-telling, with entertainment"
